A sad day for a Rohingya fisherman

Rohingyas in Burma are denied the entry into census, unless, of course, they register them as 'Bangladeshis' or 'Bengalis' - thus sealing the fate of their ancestral root to Arakan, and depicted forever as outsiders. It is a criminal ploy and must be stopped by the world community. Nor are other Muslims safe in this den of genocide and extermination.

Few hours ago, a Rohingya from Kyauktaw Township of Arakan state was hacked by a group of Rakhine extremists, according to locals. The 25-year-old Rohingya named Shafi Alam from Pisi Peik Thay hamlet was fishing in the Pee stream in the evening when a group of Rakhine extremists from Myin Kyat Rakhine hamlet, which is just on the opposite side of Pisi Peik Thay hamlet, attacked him and brought him to their village. He sustained serious injuries on his eyebrow on his right side. He screamed for help. Fortunately a group of Rohingyas who were fishing nearby in Pee stream heard his voice and came to his rescue.

The Rakhine extremists fled as they saw the group of Rohingyas arrive at the crime scene.

Such events are daily occurrences inside Arakan state of today's Myanmar.

As I have noted events of this nature don't happen without some green signal from the top. The entire Buddhist community is behind the crime of genocide of the Rohingya people - from Thein Sein to local RNDP leaders and cadres to thugs and monks. The world body needs to put some top notch guys for crimes against humanity to stop this on-going genocide of the Rohingya people.
