The Death of the Two-State Solution

Do you know the country, according to the Congressional Research Service, which has been the “largest cumulative recipient of U.S. foreign assistance since World War II,” to the tune of $124.3 billion, and most of it military in nature? Is it  Great Britain, Germany, Japan, the Philippines? No, the correct answer is Israel. It is this gigantic aid to Israel that has emboldened the apartheid country to put the death nail to the coffin of the two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli problem.
For a good analysis on the subject, read this linked article. It is written by Sandy Tolan, a TomDispatch regular. He is the author of the international bestseller, The Lemon Tree, and of the acclaimed Children of the Stone about one Palestinian’s dream to establish music schools under Israel’s military occupation. He has reported from more than 35 countries and is professor at the Annenberg School for Journalism and Communication at USC - my alma mater.
