Rohingya Homes and villages burned by Myanmar government forces and Rakhine extremists
The Arakan Times (AT) Correspondent repots from Rathedaung in northern Myanmar:
Myanmar armed forces and Rakhine extremists torched all the remaining villages of Rohingyas in Rathedaung Township on 9 September 2017.
Some Rohingya homes in ShetPyin and all in ChinKhali and KutanKauk villages were first burnt down after 25 August 2017 at the beginning of violence and arson attack of Myanmar armed forces.
The Myanmar military and Border Guard Police in collaboration of Rakhine extremists set devastating fire to the remaining Rohingya villages under Zay Di Pyin BGP sector in Rathedaung which were completely burnt to ashes on 8 Sep.
The names of the burnt villages and figures of homes are as follows;
- Auk Nan Yar village, 485 homes
- Atet Nan Yar village, 264 homes
- Nilinbaw village, 190 homes
- Adu village, 64 homes
- Thandu village, 60 homes
- PangKhaing IDP camp, 276 homes
- Belami village, 200 homes
- Thazaw village, 99 homes
- PyiangTaw village, 104 homes
- ShwetPyin village, 300 homes
- Zaw Di Pyin village, 107 homes
- ChinKhali village, 743 homes
- KutanKauk village, 692 homes
- KyaYoKunTang IDP camp, 233 homes
- ZeeKunDang IDP camp, 53 homes
- Pyin Chaung IDP camp, 170 homes
Tens of thousands of Rohingyas have been homeless who are neither able to live at their villages and flee to Bangladesh crossing the Mayu Mountain range due to fear of Rakhine extremists.
